DryBrook Farm

DryBrook is a family farm located in Litchfield County, Connecticut.  We breed,raise and train both purebred Connemara Ponies and Hanoverian Crosses. 

Most important to us is to breed sport horses with good minds that can be fully enjoyed by amateurs and more serious competitors. 

The Connemara Pony is known for its wonderful jumping ability and versatility.  Hanoverians add size, uphill movement and additional grace to our breeding program. 

Our ponies range in size from mid to large pony and smaller horse sized crosses.  All of our ponies and horses are registered by the American Connemara Pony Society or RPSI inspected by German judges, each horse after being RPSI approved is branded and given a German Passport.  We hope that our ponies will be loved and cherished by the children and adults who own them.

All our ponies excell in jumping and exhibit lovely ground covering movement.

We enjoy our  horses and ponies. We event, hunter pace, drive and show hunter/jumpers.  Our horses and ponies have participated in the Sport Pony Demonstration at the Equine Affaire since 2006.  While showing is fun and important, it is equally important, we think,  to be able trail ride and have a good time. We train our ponies to be sensible and good natured mounts.

Connemaras are Excellent children's partners ..And are equally fun for adults!   

  Our Farm:

We believe it is important for our babies to be imprinted at birth.  We breed one to two babies yearly, so that each foal is allowed to be a "baby"... and can be handled every day using natural horsemanship.

All our foals know proper respect of space.They are trained to lead, pick up their feet, and load on a trailer. We take them to hang out at local shows just for the experience of it.

 As our ponies develop, they are taught to ground drive and are then backed to a saddle.  They are worked in our ring...but then go out onto the trails behind our farm and are ridden on the road. This way they are exposed to a multitude of experiences.
